Blackberry & crab apple vodka or gin (gf/vg)

There are lots of recipes for fruit infused vodka or gin and all of them are delicious but this  is one of my personal favourites - smells like blackberry and apple crumble in a glass!
  • 75cl bottle vodka or gin
  • 225g blackberries (washed)
  • 225g crab apples or cooking apples
  • 200g caster sugar
  • Very large jam or preserving jar
  1. Chop the washed apples into chunks small enough to fit into a lidded jar.
  2. Put all the fruit into the jar and add the vodka/gin and the sugar.
  3. Screw the lid on the jar and shake to start dissolving the sugar. Store in a dark place.
  4. Shake every day for a few days until all the sugar is dissolved.  Now leave in  the dark for 3-6 months. Decant the mix through a sieve into a jug and return for flavoured vodka / gin to the dark cupboard for another 3-6 months or as long as you can bear to keep it un-opened.
