Seasonal Foraging

We run foraging courses for every season and for different interests. Each day is different as we never know exactly what we'll find but we always find something to taste or see.  The days run like this:-
  • We meet at a specified location with either a car park or parking area.
  • We start off with a quick run through what we'll be doing and some safety tips, some foraged nibbles and drinks are shared during the course.
  • We forage for about 3 hours and then we gather together for a recap and share the food we have found.
The course will run even in wet weather so please come prepared with appropriate clothing and wellies.  Sadly, we cannot take dogs along  - not everyone feels comfortable with dogs around and we walk too slowly for them to have a proper walk.

Staying safe

It is very important not to pick and eat any wild food unless you are 100% sure that you know what you are picking.  By attending one of our courses you can begin to gather the knowledge to start foraging - we will show you some of the wild foods available in the area at that time, together with the key identification points for each species. We do recommend that you attend more than one course to deepen your knowledge, but a couple of books on plants, fungi and foraging are essential if you want to forage on your own.  Remember though to be 100% sure you know what you are eating.

"Helen was a brilliant guide, the perfect host, professional, friendly and informative.....I left the afternoon feeling relaxed and happy and armed with the knowledge I needed for my next solo foraging adventure."

Keeping in touch

Every season we issue a newsletter detailing new courses and events, foraging finds of the season plus recipes for the wild foods you might find.  If you would like to sign up to our newsletter please add your email address and click on the button below.  We promise never to share your address with any other organisations and you can opt out of our mailing list at any time.
